Request New Target Balance

The Request New Target Balance feature in the ModernFi Admin Portal allows your institution to manage how much it aims to receive from the deposit network on a daily basis. This amount, known as the Target Balance, represents the maximum level of deposits your institution is willing to receive. While there is no guarantee that the full target will be allocated on any given day, allocations are managed to satisfy the maximum amount of requested demand while remaining within the parameters your institution has set.

If the Reciprocate Fully toggle is enabled, your institution participates in a two-way relationship—placing funds into the network while simultaneously sourcing other deposits back from other network credit unions' high-value members. When enabled, the target balance is automatically set equal to the total balance of your sweep program to support reciprocation through the returning of a like amount of deposits from the network. This setting automates the placement side of the program and removes the need to manually update the target balance as you continue to grow your sweep program.

When Reciprocate Fully is disabled, your institution can still choose to reciprocate by manually setting a custom target balance in line with your sweep program. You can also operate in a receive-only capacity by disabling the Reciprocate Fully toggle. This gives your team maximum flexibility to align ModernFi participation with your institution’s liquidity and funding strategy. To manually submit a new target balance when Reciprocate Fully is off, navigate to the Admin Portal, select “Manage Program,” click “Set New Target Balance,” enter the desired amount, and click “Submit.” A Pending Request will then appear in the Requests table, reflecting your submission
